Prostate cancer
The most difficult problem for every patient facing prostate cancer is the abundance of treatment options and the inability to make a choice. One does not want to blindly trust advertisements, but the variety of proposed treatment methods paralyzes the patient's ability to choose. On one hand, surgery seems like an option, but no one wants to lose an organ and end up with incontinence or erectile dysfunction. On the other hand, radiation itself is frightening, not to mention the scary word "brachytherapy." On the third hand, hormonal therapy or, even worse, chemotherapy, seems like a last resort...
That’s why every patient in our clinic receives an individual treatment plan with a detailed analysis of their data during the oncology consultation.

Treatment planning with us
The initial consultation is conducted by an oncologist-urologist. All existing examinations are carefully reviewed, a medical record is created, and additional data is requested if necessary — all to develop a personalized treatment plan.
To accurately determine the stage of the disease and assess any comorbid conditions, we may order additional tests. Very often, we request an independent expert evaluation of the histological material obtained during the biopsy.
Once all data has been received, we hold an oncology board meeting to develop an individualized treatment plan. After reaching agreement with the patient, we immediately begin treatment.
"Whether in the case of surgery or long-term therapy, each of our patients is under active monitoring, including online, which allows us to adjust the treatment in a timely manner.
Active surveillance for any oncological disease should last for 5 years. Different treatment approaches require different timelines for follow-up tests and consultations. For out-of-town patients, we offer online consultations at this stage.
Types of prostate cancer treatment:
This question is the most common one in our practice; however, it simply cannot be asked in that way. We always explain to the patient that their treatment depends on the stage of the disease, the extent of its spread, and the presence or absence of accompanying conditions. This is the main advantage of Dilanian Clinic: we discuss each patient at a multidisciplinary board and assign a physician who is responsible for the entire treatment process.
What does an “individual treatment plan” really mean? It’s a strategy aimed, on one hand, at treating the disease, and on the other, at preserving the highest possible quality of life. After the initial consultation and all necessary tests and examinations, we conduct a board meeting where we create a personalized treatment plan. Both the stage of the tumor and any coexisting medical conditions are necessarily taken into account. Most importantly, during the final consultation, we thoroughly explain all possible treatment methods, discuss the effectiveness of each approach with the patient, and make sure to outline all potential side effects.
